A tragic story from Benton, near Shreveport, happened in August when a 14-year old took his own life and his parents say bullies are to blame.

Levi Creech was only 14-years old and had dealt with bullies at school. The day before he died instead of bullies being removed from a classroom, Levi was removed and placed in a room alone.

His grandmother spoke to KTBS about the tragic story.

Since Levi’s story has come out more reports of suicide in the Shreveport-Bossier have come to light.

A family in Haughton is planning on filing suite against the Bossier Schools in an incident that happened at Platt Elementary. Holly Klosterman said her son Cody, 7, endured bullying at his school in September. But while the bruising has faded, the pain hasn’t gone away.

According to KTBS-TV, “On Sept. 19, Holly Klosterman claims her son came home from school beat up and bruised.

They started to trip me, kick me punch me, and they kicked me in the arm pit,” said Cody.  Klosterman says she took him to the emergency room, and he was diagnosed with a mild concussion. A report from a follow-up visit to a doctor the next week showed he was treated for a nightmare disorder and anxiety. 

A non-profit organization has started in the Shreveport-Bossier area called Stand Together. Stand Together is for bullying awareness, prevention, and reporting assistance.
