Tyler Perry made Thanksgiving better for a lot of people in the Atlanta area yesterday.
He opened up his studio for four hours to feed 5,000 families with a combination of food boxes and gift cards to Kroger supermarkets. And his employees donated their time to help hand everything out.
The line started forming on Saturday, and at one point it was five miles long. They were out of food by 10:00 A.M. Sunday.
A source says, “Tyler was heartbroken seeing people all over the country stand in line for food so he decided he wanted to give back to his community in Atlanta.
“Hopefully this encourages others who are able to, to give back during the holiday season in a year that has been difficult for many.” (Check out pics and video here.)
